Bishop Grosseteste University is seeking to appoint an Associate Functional Skills Tutor or Tutors to work on a sessional/hourly basis support the delivery of apprenticeships activity. We are actively seeking qualified and occupationally competent Associate Functional Skills Tutor/s to deliver Functional skills qualifications to Apprentices. This is a peripatetic role which requires the associate tutor to support and assess students in a wide variety of settings.
You will have recent experience of tutoring functional skills (this may be one, two or three of the functional skills subjects) and current practice within a teaching environment. We are seeking a professional with experience of working with the BKSB system and the Edexcel qualification specifications, experience of a VLE system is also advantageous. Experience of working within funding guidance is highly beneficial alongside working within an Ofsted assured provision.
We are seeking a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be highly organised and have a flexible approach to working hours and environments. Good IT skills, an understanding of the need for confidentiality and a willingness to promote equal opportunities, Fundamental British Vales are essential for this role.
As a successful candidate you will be proactive, methodical, able to work independently and have an eye for detail. You will be expected to be good at maintaining communication with staff, students and external agencies. You will need to take ownership of specific areas of work, and be innovative and creative in their approach to work and problem resolution.
