Category: Professional/Support | Hub: Registry | Department: Governance and Compliance | Closing Date: 27 Feb 2019 |   We are seeking to make a new appointment to our University Council, the body responsible for determining the educational character and mission of the University and for overseeing its activities. We are looking for individuals who have experience in senior roles who will commit around one day per month on an average to help us meet our vision to be a leader in learning. You will have strong strategic vision and an ability to challenge constructively at Council level. You will have effective communication skills and an understanding of corporate governance principles. Our independent members are from a diverse range of backgrounds and work alongside the Vice-Chancellor and the executive team, bringing experience in industry, education, finance, the professions and employment. To ensure a balance of skills, the University would now particularly like to hear from individuals with recent and relevant experience in any of the following areas: Teaching/Management/Governance in FE/alternative education provider Other resource management - e.g, conferencing, catering IT (Technical) This is an opportunity to play an important role within a University which is proud of its achievements and looks with confidence to the challenges that lie ahead in the rapidly changing Higher Education environment. The post is not remunerated, but travelling and similar expenses will be reimbursed.
