Full-time: – 37 hours per week - term time only (41 weeks)
We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Technician (Performing Arts). The role involves supporting learning and teaching, and conferences and events by providing technical support to academic staff, students and external clients. The post holder will be primarily involved in the preparation, maintenance and demonstration of apparatus, equipment, materials and tools together with the associated administration.
The role holder will ensure the quality of student experience using the Theatre. They will also take responsibility for contacts with suppliers of specialist equipment and ensure that the studio and main auditorium are set out in accordance with the requirements of course leaders and external consultants.
The role holder will be expected to use specialist equipment such as:
Sound mixing desk.
Other theatre equipment including bridges, access tower, ladder, props and furniture.
Digital equipment e.g. audio-visual equipment
The role holder will be expected to liaise with external clients on safe & correct use of theatre & equipment and advise BGU staff and students accordingly. They will liaise with Conferencing and Events, and BG Venue on the use and set up of the auditorium.
