The IT Services department at LSHTM has around 55 staff who focus on a variety of disciplines including customer service, systems management, and change and project management. The department is made up of sub-teams including Information Security, Web, IT Support, Multi-media, Networks, eLearning and Systems. The department utilises ITIL, Prince2 and Agile principles to support and develop the School’s business and IT requirements.
Successful candidates will be placed within the IT Support Officer team during the first year. In the second year the candidate will be given short secondments to the other ITS teams and receive a more in-depth exposure to specific IT functions, including some project-based work.
The scheme is aimed at any graduate with a degree in an IT focused discipline who has recently graduated, achieving a grade of 2.2 minimum, who would like to develop a career in IT.
The successful candidate will have good customer service skills, the ability to communicate well, the ability to work with little supervision, being comfortable with decision making and a flexible approach to working. The post holder will think logically for fault resolution with attention to detail and accuracy.
The post is full-time and fixed term until 2 April 2019. The salary will be on the Professional Support Pathway Grade 3 scale in the range £24,330 to £27,584 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
