Category: Professional Support | Department: Division of Education | Closing Date: 26 Feb 2017 | Two Programme Administrators are required for an immediate start to support the administration of the Distance Learning Programme. The posts involve acting as a first point of contact for queries from registered students throughout the world, maintenance of student records and a Virtual Learning Environment, administration of coursework and examinations, committee servicing, and working with information of a confidential nature. The posts involve dealing with significant amounts of email correspondence and therefore a high standard of written and spoken English skills, and familiarity with using email, is essential.
The post holders will be responsible to a Programme Administration Manager and will provide support to a designated group of DL programmes. Staff work as part of a team within the Distance Learning Office and are required to be flexible with regard to tasks on other programmes as required, including offering assistance to one another during periods of holiday/sickness.
The post holders will work closely with other staff in the DL Office, the Head and Deputy Head of the DL Office, Faculty Taught Programme Directors, Programme Directors and Module/Project Organisers to provide an effective administrative support service for students, staff and external stakeholders. In addition, the post holders will regularly work with other departments at the School, and staff at the University of London International Programmes who are responsible for admissions, registration and tuition fees, and examinations.
The posts are full time (35 hours per week) and permanent. The salary will be on the Professional Support Pathway Grade 3 scale in the range £24,330 - £27,584 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The posts will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year. In addition to this, there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. Due to the examination workload throughout June and July, staff within the DL Office cannot take significant annual leave during these months.
