Project Manager - RECAP (PHP-HSRP-29)

Category: Professional Support | Department: Faculty of Public Health & Policy | Closing Date: 21 Dec 2017 | We are seeking to appoint an experienced Research Project Manager to take responsibility for managing a large project funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). The post holder will have senior-level project management role for an exciting 4 year £8million project seeking to support humanitarian responses in a number of countries (for further details see https://www.lshtm.ac.uk/recap)
The post holder will play a key strategic role in providing information and direction to develop and execute strategies to achieve the overall goal of the project. The major tasks and responsibilities of the post are in the areas of project management, financial management, monitoring, internal communications and information management, external communications, and initiative and problem solving.
The ideal candidate should have higher education to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience, proven evidence of continuing professional development, such as attendance on internal or external study programmes, experience of managing large and complex projects, preferably with multiple overseas partners; this experience should include creating budgets, monitoring accounts and producing financial projections and reports. The post-holder should also have experience of professional work within a higher education institution or similar environment. A knowledge and interest in international development is desirable. The post is available on a full-time basis commencing as soon as possible. The post is funded until 31 December 2021. The salary will be on the LSHTM Professional Support Pathway Grade 6 scale, in the range £38,533 to £43,759 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting).
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
