Agri-food Technology is central to the University of Lincoln’s strategy and the Lincoln Institute of Agri-food Technology (LIAT) provides a University wide focus for Agri-food research and related activities. The University is a leading institution for research and development in the field of Agri-food robotics and a new Agri-food Robotics Research Centre under development.
The post holder will work as part-of a team focussed on the development of robotics for the Agri-food sector. The post offers a unique opportunity for a committed researcher to develop their career in an environment that is both academically stimulating and business engaged. The post holder will focus on helping small Agri-food businesses identify and implement opportunities to innovate through the introduction of robotics and related automation, overseeing a range of projects with businesses from 2 day projects to more in-depth business partnered projects of 1 to 3 years duration. The role will include working on research projects with the companies and helping them to integrate new robotic and automation technology.
The successful candidate will have access to bespoke and state of the art facilities which will be constructed to support the project. This particular role will focus developing mechatronic technology to support businesses and the wider robotics / engineering teams within the University.
