We are seeking a Maternity Cover Research Fellow to join our diverse, international team investigating the epidemiology of Zika virus infections in pregnancy. The project is based in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health.
The Research Fellow will be expected to support the study by providing methodological and technical support, preparing relevant data analysis plans, supporting quality monitoring of the data, undertaking statistical analyses of the data, and contributing to the preparation of reports and academic publications. By producing specific and scientifically sound evidence of the effects of maternal Zika virus infections on perinatal and paediatric health, this study will advance our understanding of the risk and clinical spectrum of Congenital Zika Syndrome.The successful applicant will have demonstrated research experience in epidemiology or public health and a high degree of personal motivation. For the post-holder to be able to perform the job effectively, they will be required to have a PhD degree in epidemiology or public health, strong statistical skills, and demonstrable writing proficiency.
The fixed-term maternity cover post is based in London and will be funded for 6 months. The salary will be on the Academic Pathways salary scale at Grade 6, £40,011 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
