Research Fellow in Cyber Security

Description: The Faculty is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow to join our multi-disciplinary research group working in Cyber Security.
As a Research Fellow in Cyber Security at Plymouth University you will be expected to work with the Dean and other members of the Maritime Cyber Threats Research Group to conduct research, enterprise and knowledge transfer, in alignment with the Faculty's research strategy.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant area and have strong technical skills in Cyber Security, with a particular emphasis on cyber threat analysis, penetration testing approaches, and Intrusion detection or Intrusion prevention. You will be involved in novel research in the field of Cyber Security, working with a multidisciplinary research group of security experts, maritime operations academics, psychologists and others. This will involve fundamental research, development of practices and procedures, and supporting tools, communication and commercialization of research outputs. You will be a key part of the group developing a leadership position in Maritime aspects of the cyber threat taking full advantage of the unique resources available at the University. You will be expected to: develop a publication profile, support students and contribute to the securing of grant funding; ensure that research and all related activity is of the highest standard and enhances the student experience as well as the reputation of the research group, Faculty, School and University; to support the University mission of being a research informed institution.
Applicants will not be expected to have all of the desirable skills: we are looking for both breadth and depth in cyber/computer security, with a demonstrated ability to be adaptable and apply knowledge in flexible ways to a new area.

This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week and is fixed-term for 3 years
