Staffordshire University is working hard to become the UK’s premier digitally led university. We are already leading the way in the sector by adopting Microsoft cloud technologies and becoming the UK’s first Microsoft ‘Beacon University’. We are embarking on an ambitious portfolio of change to support our ‘Connected University’ strategy, focused on teaching & learning and the student experience. Our people will be key to its success, so we want to hear from dynamic, highly competent, customer focused IT/digital professionals that relish the opportunity to be part of our new Digital Services team and play a key role in delivering our ambitious plans.
Reporting into the Network and Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the target infrastructure architecture and roadmap and the specification of the steps required towards achieving the target architecture; ensuring that the target infrastructure model guides the design, development and integration of all digital solutions with a view to enhance University digital services while reducing the costs of provision. You act as the principal digital infrastructure technical authority accountable for the high-level design of solution components to ensure the on-going compatibility and coherence with the enterprise architecture. You’ll conduct periodic strategic assessments, identifying gaps between current and future capabilities, and outlining the transition to the future state that aligns with the overall enterprise architecture. Key to success will be your ability to effectively manage the team responsible for the provision of stable, available, and resilient infrastructure systems and services including the provision of second and third line infrastructure support services.
We are keen to hear from customer focused, self-motivated, well organised IT/digital professionals with a passion for future state technologies and a track record of maintaining and developing the infrastructure architecture within a digitally literate and demanding customer base operating in rapidly changing complex customer centric project environment with experience in hosting and cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure, VMware, storage, Server backup, restoration and monitoring, Windows and Linux servers, oracle and SQL DBA.
