Research & Enterprise is a central professional support department which works with staff, industry, external partners, students and graduates to drive:

Increased levels of graduate employment and progression
Innovation & productivity levels throughout our region.
We use all these elements together and separately to build wide and deep external partnerships, further developing our role as an ‘active anchor institution’.
Since its establishment in 2011, Research & Enterprise has supported growth in activity and impact such as a doubling in external bidding activity and HEBCI related income and a fivefold increase in student employability interactions. The University has changed significantly during this period and with the development and implementation of a new University Strategic Plan responding to a changing external environment (e.g. Brexit, UKRI etc.) we now have exciting opportunities to creating a new model of support for our customers.
The post holder will help deliver the strategy that has been developed to increase the quantity and range of research, development, innovation and knowledge exchange activities and services. The main focus will be on supporting businesses to access ESIF Innovation Vouchers and Proof of Concept funding, building the engagement with the business that will lead on to further local, national and international funding opportunities.
