The College of Science currently consists of eight Schools; Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Mathematics & Physics, the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, Pharmacy and the newly established School of Geography. The College, which is driving world-leading developments in autonomous systems, agri-food technology, medical vision, power and energy, and biosciences, is going through a period of rapid development and change and is looking for dedicated, capable and well-motivated people to be part of this journey.
The College is looking to appoint a College Finance Clerk (Finance Officer) on a fixed term until January 2019 (with the potential for extension) to join a fast-growing team supporting a dynamic range of schools. This is a key financial post within the College of Science and the post will be based in the Joseph Banks Laboratories Building. The post holder will work closely with the Head of College, Heads of School, College Director of Operations, College Finance Officers, Technical Manager and Central Finance to ensure correct and accurate accounting procedures are maintained and disseminated as appropriate.
The successful candidate will need to use initiative and prioritise workload to meet tight internal guidelines, whilst working with minimum supervision. Experience of working in Higher Education would be an advantage.
This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
