The University of Lincoln is dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, engagement and creative entrepreneurship across its constituent Colleges and Schools. This is demonstrated in University-wide initiatives such as ‘Student as Producer’ in which students undertake projects and develop new ideas with lecturers and other members of the professional community.
The BA in Fashion was revalidated in 2014 to create a distinctive programme focusing on experimental approaches to design, challenging perspectives of Fashion, Fashion as Art, and Fashion as Performance.
We are now looking to enhance our Fashion subject area to include combined programmes in Fashion and Costume, and Costume and Theatre. As part of this enhancement we seek to recruit a Principal Lecturer who will lead the development of these proposed programmes. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is also able to lead the Fashion programme as part of their role.
The School of Fine and Performing Arts, within which the Fashion area is situated, offers its students the opportunity to explore dialogues across four other subject areas: Dance, Drama and Theatre, Fine Art and Music. There are opportunities to study shared modules and create work with students from other disciplines, and the development of our combined Costume programmes with Fashion and Theatre extend the possibilities for collaboration for both staff and students.
