Market Insight Assistant (Temporary)

The department of Strategic Marketing at Queen's is seeking a candidate to fill a temporary role within the Market Insight Team. The role is to support the team in administration and analysis of quantitative research and competitor analysis, for example market trend analysis, recruitment analysis, rankings performance and event feedback surveys - culminating in the creation of reports to be disseminated to staff. The role is a great opportunity for anyone seeking experience or has an interest in a market insight / marketing career and is open to students to apply.

Assessment Support Hub Student Ambassadors - Job Description 

The Assessment Support Hub team are seeking to recruit three Student Ambassadors to join their team to help drive student engagement with this important University resource. 

The Assessment Support Hub (ASH) is a digital site which has been designed as a one-stop shop to provide information for Queen's students on all things assessment. The site is the result of a cross-campus collaborative project which aims to demystify assessment, let students know about services which can help with things like academic writing, wellbeing concerns, etc. and provides support if things aren't going as planned. Students were involved from the beginning and helped to benchmark what was available at other universities, to co-design the site, and to create its content. 

The primary role of the ASH Student Ambassadors will be to help to drive student engagement with the site, particularly the content that aims to help students understand assessment at Queen?s and access pre-assessment support. 

Hours will vary throughout the period of employment but will be on average around 4 hours per week, with more around assessment period. It is anticipated that this post will be available until end-January 2025.  The postholder will primarily work Monday to Friday, however occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. The postholder will be based on-campus.

General Duties:  

-Promote the Assessment Support Hub amongst students, across all levels of study, through attendance at in-person events and via online channels

-Initiate conversations with students about the benefits of the Assessment Support Hub, provide guidance on what support is available and signpost effectively

-Represent the Assessment Support Hub and distribute branded merchandise at School, Faculty and central university events

-Identify events and engagement opportunities to further promote the Assessment Support Hub to Queen?s students

-Collect and report student feedback to inform continuous improvement of the site

-Carry out administrative tasks including scheduling and planning meetings, developing action lists, and ensuring they are followed-up. To monitor, draft and respond to emails, and coordinate robust file management and version control across shared platforms e.g., Teams Sites

-Contribute towards the communication plan for the Assessment Support Hub, which includes social media, training for staff, student and staff newsletters, digital screens etc

-Develop engaging content in relation to the ASH including social media, web-based copy and graphics, intranet material, and project updates to key stakeholders

-Engage with key stakeholders connected to the ongoing development of the ASH, including but not limited to members of the Project Implementation and User Groups, staff and students, and members of Faculties, Schools, and Directorates across the University

-Undertake all relevant training as required

-Carry out any other duties which are appropriate to the post as may be reasonably requested by the supervisor(s) and provide regular updates to supervisory staff

Project title: Sustainability in the Curriculum: Queen Mary Green Space for Sustainability Awareness

Summary of the project: We are seeking motivated and passionate students to join the 'Sustainability in the Curriculum: Queen Mary Green Space for Sustainability Awareness' project. As a student co-creator, you will collaborate with academics to develop an innovative, non-credit sustainability course open to Queen Mary staff, students, and the East London community. 

This course focuses on sustainability awareness, knowledge, and skills, with content centered around the UN Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO sustainability competencies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with academics to co-create a sustainability course, ensuring an engaging and impactful learning experience.
  • Develop and deliver engaging content for social media, newsletters, and the Queen Mary website, adhering to institutional communications and marketing guidelines.
  • Create targeted email campaigns to inform and inspire participation, including crafting compelling messages and calls to action.
  • Organise promotional events, both online and on campus, to attract participants and raise awareness.
  • Work with the project team to maintain consistent messaging, branding, and tone across all communications.
  • Track, analyse, and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities and module engagement to inform future strategies.
  • Synthesise diverse ideas and aspects of the module into cohesive communications, including promotional videos, course introductions, and campaign materials.
