Nursing and Midwifery are engaging in projects to reduce waste associated with single use items utilised within clinical skills labs during teaching practice. To achieve long term benefits, the project will map the waste stream and identify materials that can be reclaimed, redesigned and further recycled into teaching aids and additional resources. This aligns with the QUB?s NET zero commitment 2040 and will use a holistic approach.
You will collect data and analyse the clinical waste through an audit process. Review the data collected and produce a final report with recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
? Produce an audit tool to collect the data required
? Analyse data to determine the amount of waste produced
? Produce clear and structured data to show waste usage
? Conduct a final report with recommendations
? Meet the key objectives of the project
? Present findings
QualificationsGood written English literature and mathematic skills (degree level or working towards).
Skills? Use Microsoft Word and Excel to produce findings
? Be aware of the requirements of an audit
? Familiarity with clinical skills and the waste produced in these areas
? Ability to translate data into clear insights
? Excellent communication and reporting skills
? Knowledge of waste materials recyclability an advantage
