Job Description

This role is within the Data, Insights & Reporting team in the Brand & Marketing department. The team provides a highly skilled internal service resource in support of student recruitment and other marketing-related activities.   

We are seeking a technically proficient, solution-focused team player who actively seeks opportunities to automate reporting processes. You will have strong data-driven storytelling and visualization skills to facilitate a deeper understanding of the data's underlying context. An expert in their field, the chosen candidate will lead in providing essential data and insights, enabling teams to assess the performance of their marketing campaigns and strategically allocate resources. This will involve implementing user-friendly tools, conducting tailored analyses, and providing guidance and recommendations based on both internal and external data trends. This role will also drive future enhancements to our reporting tools and explore innovative ways to develop the team's reporting capabilities further.

  • Experience of working in marketing data analysis, using data manipulation and visualisation software 
  • Experience working with and manipulating large datasets in a variety of formats, including complex data models 
  • Proficiency in using Power BI is essential, including DAX, to carry out data modelling and building dashboards 
  • Familiarity with using Google Analytics and GA4, or equivalent web analytics tool  
  • Solution-focused with strong problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrable ability to turn data into actionable insights 
  • Demonstrable ability to explain complex data to a non-technical audience and to tell the story behind the data. 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage working across multiple concurrent projects and work to deadlines 
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders at all levels.

The Research Assistant will undertake a range of duties, including: - Conducting research using basic techniques under supervision. - Assisting in planning and implementing specific research activities. - Assisting in data collection, including interviews and focus groups. - Contributing to problem-solving, referring complex issues to senior staff. - Supporting the presentation of research progress and outcomes to stakeholders. - Documenting results and contributing to publications as required. This role requires excellent communication skills, a keen interest in qualitative research, and an empathetic approach to working with neurodivergent populations.

About this project:

Eye-tracking technology has emerged as a valuable tool in understanding cognitive processes, particularly in neurodivergent populations. However, despite its widespread use, there's a growing recognition that traditional eye-tracking methodologies may not adequately capture the perspectives of neurodivergent individuals, especially regarding Social Attention?defined as the spontaneous allocation of attention to social stimuli and interactions.

 

Our study exploring the perspective of neurodivergent children and their families on eye-tracking. This project aims to rethink eye-tracking to authentically capture neurodivergent perspectives by engaging neurodivergent children and their families with a parent discussion group and playful activities designed to help children highlight their views and priorities.

We are looking for one student research assistant, to help with smoothing running of the project, example tasks involve: communicating with participants, to arrange study time, to understand what they need; to be involved in the study, note taking.

About this role:

This project is a qualitative project, involves in working with vulnerable group of families. Therefore, we look for someone who is empathetic and patient, a desire to work with children, great communication skills, keen interest in neurodivergent research, passionate about qualitative research, an open-minded approach towards neurodivergent population.

This role is funded at an hourly rate of ?13.64 / hour.
