Job Description

A fun opportunity to engage with King's Residences residents and contribute to the feedback collection for the annual Resident Experience Survey (RES). King's Residences are setting up a 6-week roadshow across all twelve sites to encourage students to give feedback on their stay with King's Residences. After completing the survey, students get a chance try their luck with the fortune wheel and other giveaways. Student Ambassadors' role will be to be a friendly face at residence's common areas during the roadshow and motivate residents to submit their survey feedback via a QR code. You will also support with running the giveaway station and actively listen to students' Resi-related concerns with a positive approach, signposting them to the right body of support if needed.

Skills

Support survey feedback collection by encouraging residents to take part in the survey at roadshows.



Engage King's residents with the roadshow activities - giveaways and fortune wheel.



Contribute to the overall high-dynamic energy during roadshow evenings to create a 'buzz' around the campaign period.



Actively listen and empathise with students' concerns whilst promoting positive communication and signposting to the right body of support within KCL services.



Promote a student-centered approach and amplify student voice.



Social/proactive/Engaging with peers.



Listening skills - ability to empathise with residents



Positivity Role model and relatable whilst professional boundaries/diplomatic/discretion.

To support this mission, we are seeking a dynamic Entrepreneurship Events and Activity Assistant to work closely with our Associate Director of Entrepreneurship and the Queen Mary Innovation (QMI) Team in planning and executing a wide range of engaging initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning & Execution:  Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of entrepreneurial events, including workshops, training sessions, showcase and networking events. Provide logistical support before, during and after entrepreneurial events to facilitate effective communication with speakers and the entrepreneurial community. 
    + Venue & Resource Management: Book and manage rooms, catering, and required resources for events to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Marketing & Promotion: Promote events across the university using newsletters, and student networks to maximise participation. 
  • Administrative Support: Maintain event schedules, track attendance, gather feedback, and support budgeting and reporting activities. 
  • Innovative Contributions: Suggest and develop new ideas to foster an engaging entrepreneurial environment on campus. 
  • Time commitment: 1 day per week over the first 3 months (Feb to April) and 3-4h per week from April to July with the understanding that specific event dates will require increased availability to ensure successful execution.

Qualifications

Current QMUL Student



Skills
  • Experience in organising events or managing projects is highly desirable. 
  • Familiarity with room booking processes and campus event logistics is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. 
  • Enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and desire to play a vital role in fostering innovation within our QMUL community.

The student welcome team is looking for student assistants to join us in welcoming new students to London Met (Holloway campus) this Spring. 

Duties include:

  • Signposting students to key classrooms, school offices and events spaces
  • Helping to manage queues in busy areas
  • Supporting the welcome team with occasional campus tours or working on our help desk

 

Please respond to this advert indicating your availability to work between 27 January and 7 February 2025.

  • You must also attend a training session on Friday 24 January at either 11am-12pm or 2pm-3pm
  • Please note we can only offer positions to those who have fully completed right to work checks with Met Temps. 
  • We can offer up to 20 hours to each assistant per week, but we cannot guarantee this amount of hours.
