Job Description
The Greater London Authority to complete a research project that will support the Mayor of London to take a holistic approach to tackling the challenges that young Londoners face.
The key deliverables of this project will be:
1. Visual Systems Map reviewing the evidence gathered by the Youth Social Action team
2. Barriers and Facilitators Infographic following participatory research
3. Final Report Research Publication
CARES is the recently established research arm of the London Met Lab. The Centre focuses on empowerment and community engagement, identifying opportunities to collaborate and co-design research into the challenges faced by Londoners, working closely with out civic partners. The Centre aims to provide opportunities for our staff and students to give back to our city and contribute to its success.
Our approach to tackle the task includes a complex and innovative research design based in participatory learning action and co-production. Participatory research engages those affected by the topic under investigation for the purpose of action.
The multidisciplinary team delivering this project will be led by Assoc. Prof. Justin Webb and Prof. Diana Stirbu, and supported by Dr. Julius Elster, and Dr. Ama Agyeman.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced illustrator / graphic designer to help in the design and production of the final report for the GLA and supporting presentation materials.
The role in total is for 100 hours of work.
QualificationsEnrollment on a BA illustrator course
SkillsCandidates must be proficient in graphic design software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc); adept at producing a range of illustrations; and have an enthusiastic, professional and conscientious attitude, working independently, remotely and with initiative. They should have good knowledge of and engagement in urban rewilding activities, and skills/sensibility in graphic design and visual imagery.
