Job Description

Join our team as we explore the future of education and how skills and entrepreneurial thinking are changing. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Research Assistants to help us complete key tasks. Your role will involve researching how Artificial Intelligence (AI) will change the skills needed for different jobs. You will also help create a module that teach problem-solving and teamwork, especially around big challenges like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You will help plan workshops, analyse feedback from these events, and assist with writing reports. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Research How AI Will Impact Jobs 
    Help research how AI will change the skills needed for different jobs. 
    Look at data and help prepare reports and presentations. 
  2. Support Entrepreneurial Skills Development 
    Help create resources that teach entrepreneurial thinking and skills. 
    Assist in developing tools that encourage creative thinking and problem-solving. 
  3. Help Design a Project-Based Module 
    Assist in creating a module that brings together different subjects. 
    Work with academics and other researchers to combine ideas from different fields. 
    Help find real-world projects that focus on the SDGs. 
  4. Assist with Workshops 
    Help plan, organise, and run workshops related to the research project. 
    Create materials for the workshops and help with the setup and running of the event. 
  5. Review and Analyse Data 
    Review feedback and information collected from workshops and other activities. 
    Help understand the data and include it in reports. 
    Assist with writing and editing reports based on the research.

We are looking for enthusiastic students to join our team as Research Assistants. The role involves researching how AI is changing the skills needed for different jobs and contributing to the development of entrepreneurial learning resources. You will help design a multidisciplinary project-based module focused on real-world challenges like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), assist with organising workshops, and analyse data from these events. 

The ideal candidate will have strong research and analytical skills, with an interest in how AI impacts the future of work and skills development. Experience in organising workshops, analysing data, and writing reports is desirable, alongside strong communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with SDGs is a plus.

This position entails working as a research assistant for a study that investigates the processing of non-standard grammatical constructions in speakers of British English using eye-tracking while reading. The project is led by Eloi Puig-Mayenco from the School of Education, Communication, and Society at King?s College London.

 

The primary responsibilities of the research assistant will involve overseeing participant recruitment and conducting on-site eye-tracking data collection sessions at the Waterloo Bridge Wing building, located on the Waterloo campus. Additionally, the RA will handle initial data trimming and processing. The breakdown of allocated hours for each task is as follows:

 

15 hours for preparation, training, and meetings.

40 hours for testing: accommodating 40 participants with sessions lasting 1 hours each.

5 hours for data processing.

 

The research assistant will receive comprehensive training and mentoring to successfully carry out these responsibilities.

 

Interviews will take place mid-January.

 



Qualifications

BA/MA in Linguistics, Psychology or related discipline.

Essential:

Familiarity and ability to use Microsoft packages (e.g., good Excel command).

Undergraduate level knowledge in linguistics, psychology and/or education research or related field.

 

Desirable:

Interest in eye-tracking methodologies.

Experience with statistical analysis applied to language-related research.

 

This position entails working as a research assistant for a study that investigates the development of Catalan as a heritage language in the United Kingdom. The project is led by Eloi Puig-Mayenco from the School of Education, Communication, and Society at King?s College London.

The primary responsibilities of the research assistant will involve overseeing participant recruitment and conducting remote participant in two testing sessions in a battery of tasks (assessment of receptive vocabulary, production of specific syntactic structures and elicitation of spontaneous production data). Additionally, the RA will handle initial data trimming and processing. The breakdown of allocated hours for each task is as follows:

1. 30 hours for preparation, training, and finalizing materials.

2. 100 hours for testing: accommodating 40 participants in two sessions lasting 1 hour each hours, alongside organization of the data from testing sessions for 30 minutes. In total, the RA will spend 2.5 hour per participant.

3. 20 hours for initial data trimming.

 

The research assistant will receive comprehensive training and mentoring to successfully carry out these responsibilities.

 

Interviews will take place mid-January.

 



Qualifications

BA/MA in Linguistics, Education, Psychology or related discipline.

Excellent working proficiency in both Catalan and English

DBS certificate
