Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Documentation Assistant to support us in documenting our “Inclusion in Experience-Based Learning” project activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and clarity of all project documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in research documentation, project management, and writing for academic audiences.



Key Responsibilities 



   - Assist in the creation, organization, and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation, including research notes, reports, and summaries.



   - Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and adheres to the required standards and formats.



   - Collect, organize, and manage qualitative and quantitative data related to the research project.



   - Draft and edit documents such as short reports and blogs.



   - Proofread and format documents to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency.



   - Work closely with the researcher to understand project goals and requirements.



Qualifications

Undergraduate course completed 



Skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with documentation management tools.



- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.



- Strong organizational and time management skills.



- Ability to work collaboratively with a research team and independently as needed.

We are seeking enthusiastic and sociable students to join our team as Sustainability Student Ambassadors. In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting sustainability initiatives, engaging with fellow students and driving a culture of ?making change together? at King?s. 

This position is for a two-week period during Welcome to King?s (9-20 September 2024). Tasks include leading King?s Climate & Sustainability?s presence at Welcome Hubs and Fairs, assisting with events and presenting KCS at faculty inductions.  

Required availability for dates:  

Training scheduled for 3 September 11am-2pm (in person) 

Requirement to be available in person during Welcome to King?s (9-20 September, main activities 16-20 September)  

Flexible hours (minimum commitment 7 hours) 

Key responsibilities: 

Promotion and advocacy: Act as a representative of the university?s sustainability initiatives. Promote awareness and participation in sustainability programmes, events and campaigns through various channels, including welcome hubs, campus events and peer-to-peer interactions. 

Event coordination (e.g. climate cafe): Assist in planning, organising and executing sustainability-related events, workshops and campaigns. Ensure these events run smoothly and effectively engage the student body. 

Collaboration: Work closely with the KCS team and other relevant groups to amplify the impact of sustainability initiatives. 

Communication: Utilise excellent communication skills to increase engagement with KCS. Develop and distribute promotional materials. 

Feedback and reporting: Track attendance and collect and report feedback from students.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a student at King?s. 

In good academic standing. 

Previous experience in sustainability efforts or related extracurricular activities is preferred but not required.

Sociable and outgoing: Must be friendly, approachable, and capable of engaging with a diverse student population. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships and promoting sustainability initiatives. 

Effective communication skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, especially verbally. Experience in public speaking is a plus. 

Passion for sustainability: A genuine interest in environmental issues and a commitment to promoting sustainable practices. Previous involvement in sustainability initiatives or related coursework is highly desirable. 

Organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong organisational and time-management skills are necessary for coordinating events and activities. 

Team player: Willingness to collaborate with others and contribute to a positive team environment. Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed. 

Main purpose:

  • To support the Communications and Engagement Officer in achieving CSB comms strategy objectives
  • To develop personal goals and gain experience where wanted/ needed
