Senior Project Officer

Job Description

The IES Project Officer will work closely with the Associate Director, Programme Management and Governance, within the International, Engagement & Service Directorate (IES). 

The post holder will support a Governance Review, which is already underway, ensuring that timely progress can be to deliver the workstreams and projects, and implement the recommendations resulting from this work. The role will ideally have experience of working on multiple projects and collating and analysing data, as well as reviewing stakeholder feedback to update and improve existing systems and processes. 

As well as work on the Governance Review, the role will be involved in support the drafting of papers and reports for College Committees, alongside the Associate Director. The role holder will have the opportunity to develop their project skills, learning from the IES Project and Programme Management Community of Practice.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Support key IES governance projects which are part of a broader governance review, as well as supporting with the implementation of recommendations. 
  • Support with drafting papers and reports for Committees and Working Groups.
  • Collate partnerships data and support the development of a database as well as developing requirements for a CRM. 
  • Planning communications to stakeholders and working with the Senior Engagement Communications Manager to update internal SharePoint and Intranet pages.

Successful applicants will be invited to a short interview, scheduled to take place w/c 2nd December, with a view to the role starting w/c 9th December.

  • Experience of delivering project support. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders. 
  • Ability to complete tasks whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to resolve problems using own initiative and seek support when appropriate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office 365 suite and to track tasks to completion
