Medical Education Fellow Assessments

Job Description

This role sits within the MBBS Assessment Team and is focused on delivering data-driven insights to inform assessment fairness and performance patterns across the undergraduate medical curriculum. The post-holder will be responsible for collating, preparing, and analysing large datasets from across the MBBS examination portfolio. A key element of the work involves aligning these assessment data with student demographic and other characteristics to explore how these factors may be associated with variations in examination performance.

The role requires a strong understanding of the undergraduate medical curriculum, detailed familiarity with medical assessment content, and robust capability in data management and statistical methodology. The post-holder will also contribute to the systematic review and coding of assessment content, requiring a deep understanding of clinical knowledge and exam formats.



Qualifications

Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) ? essential

Master?s-level qualification in a health-related field (e.g. Public Health, Medical Education, Epidemiology, Health Data Science, or similar) ? essential



Skills

A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) is essential.

Substantial expertise in data management, including data cleaning, preparation, and integration of complex datasets.

Strong applied knowledge of statistical methodologies, particularly in relation to educational or performance data.

Experience working with large datasets in a research, academic, or health-related context.

Familiarity with undergraduate medical education and assessment practices.

Attention to detail and an ability to work independently on complex analytical tasks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data insights into clear summaries for academic and administrative audiences.
