Research Assistant

 

Job Description

Research Assistant post on an NIHR Applied Research Collaboration grant that is investigating how NHS Trusts with maternity services integrate an evidence-based domestic abuse intervention. The role involves the collection and analysis of mixed-methods data sources, including:



1. Documentary analysis of NHS Trust domestic abuse policies/guidelines



2. Qualitative interviews with service users and staff



3. Analysis of routine clinical data 



The role also involves conducting PPI engagement and involvement.




Qualifications

BSc in psychology or related subject



 



Skills

Experience of PPI involvement



Experience of conducting violence and abuse research in healthcare contexts



Experience of collecting and analysing qualitative data



Experience of analysing quantitative data

To assist the Senior Simulation Technician at the Weston SaIL Centre (@ Denmark Hill) in the setting up and breaking down of a clinical skills session and the setting up of the space for the following days clinical skills sessions on the 12th March 2025

We are conducting publicly funded research looking at health communication in mental health consultations.  We are looking for a well organised, self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic individual to assist with transcription of our research recordings to prepare them for data analysis.  We are happy to negotiate hours to fit with your schedule.  



Qualifications

This role would be suitable for either an undergraduate or post-graduate with the right prior experience.



Skills

Experience in transcribing video and or audio 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Familiarity with audio and video software

Knowledge of data protection regulations

Ability to make good use of supervision and support from the research team

Focus group researcher
