Job description

  • To develop King’s Residences digital engagement activities with multiple audience groups via social media channels and the College website.

  • To assist with the development of our online communities and help to create new ones.                                                                                                                                                

Role profile

  • Produce relevant and engaging content updates to populate the College’s social media channels

  • Manage digital engagement activity on a day-to-day basis, driving discussion and managing responses across networks including Facebook, Twitter and The Student Room

  • Support the development of a new Residences Blog Platform, working with students across the residences and empowering them to use the platform to communicate information about their experience and  providing support and guidance when needed

  • Collate and prepare marketing statistics

  • Coordinate weekly email/social media initiatives leading up to student applications opening and during allocations

  • Create and update marketing database to track commercial developments in our sector and compile weekly reports

  • Prepare and coordinate internal communication and maintain and update marketing calendar

  • Create and prepare supporting marketing materials

  • Work with colleagues within the wider marketing team to produce and edit engaging material as and when required.

  • Compose emails ensuring branding guidelines are adhered to, create HTML emails

  • Monitor website analytics and report back as required

  • Perform market, competitor and internal research as agreed with the marketing manager

  • Update website as required

  • Develop internet presence, improve search rankings, developing a social media strategy

  • Liaise with other departmental heads as required

  • Collate suitable imagery to be used in marketing materials

  • Prepare literature packs required, primarily to be used at residences for prospective visitors, at meetings and for distribution at College and residence open days

  • Keep the intranet up-to-date, adding images, news and documents as required

  • Contribute to the on-going development and monitoring of internal relations and brand management

  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the grade, as directed by your line manager












  • Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification or equivalent relevant experience. 




  • Experience of using digital engagement software solutions

  • Experience of disseminating news content across digital channels

  • Experience of creating and leading marketing initiatives

  • Experience of web based marketing and social media


  • Highly creative and skilled in using social media channels to deliver effective and engaging marketing communications

  • At least two years direct experience in a digital engagement role, either client or agency-side

  • At least two years direct experience managing branded social media accounts on a day-to-day basis, including sourcing answers and writing content for multiple audience groups

  • Highly creative and skilled in Adobe Suite

  • Good understanding of Content Management Systems and web publishing practices
